This Is How Many Men Have Paid for Sex Before

 The percentage of those who admit to it, at least.

Maybe you don’t spend a lot of time thinking about prostitution, but a new YouGov survey asked people do to just that—and the stats are pretty interesting.

The survey polled about 1,000 men and women on various prostitution-related topics and found that 51 percent of men said they’d be down with legalizing prostitution. Women weren’t so convinced, with just 30 percent saying they would support the idea.

And here are some other eye-opening nuggets: Twelve percent of men say they’ve paid for sex before, while two percent say they “prefer not to say” (so…they’ve probably paid for sex). Another two percent “don’t know” if they’ve paid for sex before—and we don’t even know what that means. Finally, six percent of people say they’ve accepted money for sex at some point.
